I would look for justices of the Supreme Court who understand that our Constitution is a living and breathing document, that it was intended by our founders to be interpreted in the light of the constantly evolving experience of the American people. – Al Gore 2000 Presidential Campaign

- * Is Anything Sacred? …the Obama campaign actually leaked the note to reporters before Obama even placed it in the wall. A quote from Ma’ariv: “Barack Obama’s note was approved for publication in the international media even before he put in the Kotel (Western Wall), a short time after he wrote it at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.”
Paper, rapped for outing Obama note, claims campaign pre-approved leak – What initially seemed to be a journalistic scoop of dubious moral propriety now seems to be a case of an Israeli paper being played by the Barack Obama campaign. Maariv, the second most popular newspaper in Israel, was roundly criticized for publishing the note Obama left in the Kotel. But now a Maariv spokesperson says that publication of the note was pre-approved for international publication by the Obama campaign, leading to the conclusion that the “private” prayer was intentionally leaked for public consumption… If the Maariv statement about pre-approval of publication of the note is true, it would mean that the Obama campaign had managed the event brilliantly, if deceptively, getting the double benefit of appearing to be victimized by the invasive Israeli press and prayer-thieving Jew while at the same time leaking out his humble Christian plea to the Lord. ![]()

Radicals never say sorry – ‘Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon.” This excerpt from William Ayers’ memoir appeared in the New York Times on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 — a few hours before Al Qaeda terrorists crashed hijacked planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Ayers, once a leader in the Weather Underground — the group that declared “war” on the U.S. government in 1970 — told the Times, “I don’t regret setting bombs” and “I feel we didn’t do enough.”

About Obama’s Terrorist Acquaintance – When William F. Buckley Jr. died in February, one of the things widely praised, by liberals and others, was his stalwart insistence on moral hygiene.
Obama’s comfortable association with an unrepentant former terrorist should induce queasiness in anyone who shares the humane values that Obama extols. When the issue came up in Wednesday’s Democratic debate, the Illinois senator tried to duck it. “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from,” he said… Obama minimized his relationship by acknowledging only that he knows Ayers. But they have quite a bit more of a connection than that. He’s appeared on panels with Ayers, served on a foundation board with him and held a 1995 campaign event at the home of Ayers and his wife, fellow terrorist Bernardine Dohrn. Ayers even gave money to one of his campaigns… It’s hard to imagine he would be so indulgent if we learned that John McCain had a long association with a former Klansman who used to terrorize African-Americans. Obama’s conduct exposes a moral blind spot about these onetime terrorists, who get a pass because they a) fall on the left end of the spectrum and b) haven’t planted any bombs lately.
You can tell a lot about someone from his choice of friends. What this friendship reveals is that when it comes to practicing sound moral hygiene, Obama has work to do and no interest in doing it.
Sen. Barack Obama’s answer to meeting energy demands:
Caught between two unsatisfactory explanations – one insufficient and the other false – the campaign attempted to shift the blame to John McCain. Thus, Andrea Mitchell reported that, according to the Obama campaign, McCain foreign policy advisers with connections to the Pentagon have “had something to do with this.”
But this explanation has an obvious problem: why didn’t Obama visit our wounded warriors without Gratton?
Next Obama himself got into the excuse act. In London, he reverted back to the borderline nonsensical “they’ll think it’s political” narrative. Obama stated:
I was going to be accompanied by one of my advisers, former military officer, and we got notice that he would be treated as a campaign person, and it would therefore be perceived as political, because he had endorsed my candidacy, but he wasn’t on the senate staff. That triggered, then, a concern that maybe our visit was going to be perceived as political. And the last thing that I want to do is have injured soldiers and the staff at these wonderful institutions having to sort through whether this is political or not, or get caught in the cross fire between campaigns. So, rather than go forward and potentially get caught up in what might have been considered a political controversy of some sort, what we decided was that we would not make a visit, and instead I would call some of the troops who were there. So that’s essentially the extent of the story.
Thus, Gibbs told Joe Scarborough: “We never said that the Pentagon prevented us from going.”
Moreover, Obama’s story is not consistent with statements by the Pentagon. Gibbs claimed that the Pentagon did not cite its rule regarding “campaign visits” until shortly before the scheduled event. However, the Pentagon said it informed the Obama campaign several days earlier that the date cited by Gibbs that he and his Senate staff could visit the hospital, but that no press would be allowed. According to the Pentagon, the press and Obama’s campaign staff would be accommodated at the passenger terminal of a nearby air base. Chief Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell added that, while the Pentagon made the ground rules of the visit clear to the campaign – no press and no campaign aides – it “didn’t make any judgment whether it was or was not campaigning.” In short, Obama was merely asked to follow basic rules. As long as he did, the Pentagon would have no problem with the visit and certainly would not (and did not) declare the visit “campaigning.”
So why didn’t Obama make the scheduled visit to our wounded troops? ![]()
Lost track of how many times that Obama has played the ‘Race Card’?

- Obama at Florida fund-raiser says GOP will go after him because he is black. – June 20, 2008 “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?“
Senator Obama in Berlin, Germany – Jul 24th, 2008 I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken in this great city.
Obama of playing Race Card…Again! – Jul 30, 2008 Obama continued: “And so the only way they figure they’re going to win this election is if they make you scared of me. So what they’re saying is, ‘Well, we know we’re not very good but you can’t risk electing Obama. You know, he’s new, he’s… doesn’t look like the other presidents on the currency, you know, he’s got a, he’s got a funny name.’![]()
Obama as Robin Hood – Barack Obama has released his “Emergency Economic Plan,” a clever mechanism that owes much more to Robin Hood than Milton Friedman. Obama plans to impose windfall-profits taxes on oil companies, and then redistribute the funds to taxpayers in the form of one-time rebates of $1000 per family… The Obama campaign simply can’t keep its credentials as a Carter retread hidden. The windfall-profits tax got tried by Jimmy Carter in the last desperate months of his presidency as he tried to demonize oil companies for fuel price increases and shortages. The tax hit decreased domestic production and forced us to import more oil, and it did nothing to relieve weary consumers.

And the most obvious point of all is that the rebates will only give us a one-time relief for the high gas prices, while the new tax will raise the cost of production and delivery for years. Does Obama believe that consumers don’t pay the price for taxation at the pump?
Draining the worth of the stock will cost retirement accounts much more than a thousand dollars over the length of the investment, meaning that Obama is stealing from the rich and the middle- and working-class alike just to play Robin Hood now.
Barack Obama’s Lost Years – Placed in the context of political and policy battles then raging in Illinois, however, the young legislator’s dispatches powerfully illuminate his political beliefs… As details of Obama’s early political career emerge into the light, his associations with such radical figures as Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Pfleger, Reverend James Meeks, Bill Ayers, and Bernardine Dohrn look less like peculiar instances of personal misjudgment and more like intentional political partnerships. At his core, in other words, the politician chronicled here is profoundly race-conscious, exceedingly liberal, free-spending even in the face of looming state budget deficits, and partisan.
…When it comes to issues like affirmative action and set-asides, Obama is anything but the post-racial politician he’s sometimes made out to be. Take set-asides. In 1998, Obama endorsed Democratic gubernatorial hopeful John Schmidt, stressing to the Defender Schmidt’s past support for affirmative action and set-asides.
…Anyone who understood Obama’s words that way should know that this is not the whole story. In an essay published in 1988 entitled “Why Organize? Problems and Promise in the Inner City,” Obama tried to make room for both “accommodation and militancy” in black political engagement. He wrote,
The debate as to how black and other dispossessed people can forward their lot in America is not new. From W.E.B. DuBois to Booker T. Washington to Marcus Garvey to Malcolm X to Martin Luther King, this internal debate has raged between integration and nationalism, between accommodation and militancy, between sit-down strikes and board-room negotiations. The lines between these strategies have never been simply drawn, and the most successful black leadership has recognized the need to bridge these seemingly divergent approaches.
The real Obama? You see him in those charts. Fundamentally, he is a big-government redistributionist who wants above all to aid the poor, particularly the African-American poor. Obama is eager to do so both through race-specific programs and through broad-based social-welfare legislation. “Living wage” legislation may be economically counterproductive, and Obama-backed housing experiments may have ended disastrously, yet Obama is committed to large-scale government solutions to the problem of poverty.

The Obama File – Obama and his supporters got their panties all in a twist when the McCain Campaign compared Obama’s celebrity to the celebrity of Britney and Paris — but Obama made the comparison first!
Is Obama the end of black politics? I certainly hope so. Am still reading the article…a lot of Liberalism still in it, but some interesting tidbits also.
“The generational transition that is reordering black politics didn’t start this year. It has been happening, gradually and quietly, for at least a decade, as younger African-Americans, Barack Obama among them, have challenged their elders in traditionally black districts. What this year’s Democratic nomination fight did was to accelerate that transition and thrust it into the open as never before, exposing and intensifying friction that was already there. For a lot of younger African-Americans, the resistance of the civil rights generation to Obama’s candidacy signified the failure of their parents to come to terms, at the dusk of their lives, with the success of their own struggle — to embrace the idea that black politics might now be disappearing into American politics in the same way that the Irish and Italian machines long ago joined the political mainstream.”
The majority of Americans are tired of the ‘Race Warlords’…sure, ‘Race Warlords’ were once needed, and the struggle was a long and hard one; however, the success of that struggle was achieved at least twenty years ago, and it’s time to move on.
“I’m the new black politics,” says Cornell Belcher, a 38-year-old pollster who is working for Obama. “The people I work with are the new black politics. We don’t carry around that history. We see the world through post-civil-rights eyes. I don’t mean that disrespectfully, but that’s just the way it is.
“I don’t want in any way to seem critical of the generation of leadership who fought so I could be sitting here,” Belcher told me… “Barack Obama is the sum of their struggle. He’s the sum of their tears, their fights, their marching, their pain. This opportunity is the sum of that.
Obama is the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate…un-vetted, totally inexperienced, and with a list of ‘baggage’ that no other candidate would be allowed to have. I don’t think he will win – once Americans stop the ‘Swooning’ – the election, but merely being the candidate should suggest that the time has come to move on from the past.
- THREE QUICKIES:
Reparations By Another Name – Barack Obama says Washington shouldn’t just offer apologies for slavery, but also “deeds.” Don’t worry, he says, he’s not talking about direct reparations. Relieved? Don’t be… In other words, reparations by another name… Obama has a name for his scheme: “universal strategies.”
Day 3: Obama the Slumlord Senator – During his time in Illinois, some of Barack Obama’s most important donors and fundraisers were slumlords, including convicted felon Tony Rezko, who lined their pockets with taxpayers’ money from public projects Obama pushed through the legislature.
Obama’s Muslim-Outreach Adviser Resigns – The Muslim-outreach coordinator to the presidential campaign of Barack Obama has resigned amid questions about his involvement in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups… The Justice Department named Mr. Said an unindicted co-conspirator in the racketeering trial last year of several alleged Hamas fund-raisers, which ended in a mistrial. (Obama keeps trying to slip the radical Muslims into his campaign.)
‘Invasion of Georgia’ a ‘3 a.m. moment’
Hot Air puts it like this – Obama’s 3 AM Breakfast: Waffles
Barack Obama has apparently reversed himself on what John McCain called a 3 AM moment, in reference to Hillary Clinton’s primary campaign ad. Originally, Obama had decided to castigate both Georgia and Russia over the outbreak of hostilities in South Ossetia, even while Russian bombs fell on Georgia itself. Today, Obama has changed his tune, following McCain’s lead in demanding that Russia cease its aggression… Here’s his original statement:
“I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict,” Obama said in a written statement. “Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint and to avoid an escalation to full-scale war. Georgia’s territorial integrity must be respected.”

Buy American, Vote Obama. What? – “Citizen of the world” Obama now wants to tell everyone they should “Buy American”—not exactly an original thought, just Google the phrase for yourself. (Obama bounces around more than a rubber ball…)
